What Am I Reading Now?

Just a brief announcement to share that I'll be on writing hiatus through the end of the month.

I'll be reading Charles Darwin's The Voyage of the Beagle and The Origin of Species as my husband and I enjoy an adventure in the Galapagos Islands!

I'll be sure to post reviews upon my return...please check back in early June!

Ratings and Reviews

I rate books on a scale of 1-5 stars as follows:

5 Stars: one of my all-time favorite books. I will likely purchase multiple copies, give them to all my friends and extended family members, and rant and rave about this book ad nauseum. I try to give very few 5 star ratings.

4 Stars: an excellent and entertaining read. I will keep a copy on my bookshelf, but wouldn't be reluctant to lend it out. I'll recommend these books frequently, but perhaps not as aggressively.

3 Stars: a good story or educational book, but nothing that grabs me in a lasting way. Or, an enjoyable book that I feel is significantly weakened in some aspect: plot holes, silly characters, poor logic, etc.

2 Stars: A book that I struggled to finish or was reluctant to pick up off of my bookshelf. A story that left me feeling unsatisfied with its conclusion.

1 Star: A book that I couldn't finish or really disliked upon completion.
